On December 12, 2024, the Agricultural Research Center of Cairo University (Egypt), represented by Prof. Badawi Tantawi, attended the 19th Steering Meeting and Symposium of INWEPF (International Network for Water and Ecosystem in Paddy Fields) in Thailand, on behalf of the Association of Mediterranean Deltas (DELTAMED).  

INWEPF is an international network that promotes sustainable water management in paddy fields and rural development, with a strong focus on environmental preservation. Through workshops, symposiums, and knowledge exchange and capacity-building activities, the organization works to achieve three main objectives: “Food Security and Poverty Reduction,” “Sustainable Water Use,” and “Partnership.” 

During this event, we had the honor of meeting Dr. Marco Arcieri, President of the International Commission for Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), with whom we hope to soon collaborate on new projects focused on optimal water resource management in agriculture.
